现在进行时的特点和用法
现在进行时的用法是英语中的重点内容,也是考试的热点.下面谈谈现在进行时的概念、特点及其用法.
一、现在进行时的含义
现在进行时有两层含义：一是表示现在（说话瞬间）正在进行或发生的动作；二是表示当前一段时间内的活动或现阶段正在进行的动作.要注意的是动作未必正在进行.例如：
1.I am writing a letter now. 现在我正在写信.（说话瞬间“写”这一动作正在进行）2.They are mending the old house these days. 这些天他们在修理那旧房子.（当前他们在忙于修房子,但现在不一定正在修）
二、现在进行时的特点
1.当句尾有表示“现在”意思的副词now时,常用现在进行时.例如：
The boys are playing games now. 男生正在做游戏.
Xiao Ming is drawing now. 小明正在画画.
2.句首有提示性动词Look或listen等时,常用现在进行时.例如：
Look！ The bus is coming. 看！公共汽车来了.
Listen！ Someone is singing in the next room. 听！有人在隔壁的房间里唱歌.
3.有时间状语these days, this week等,表示当前一段时间内的活动或现阶段正在进行的动作,常用现在进行时.例如：
My father is writing an article this week. 这一周我爸爸正在写一篇文章.
What are you doing these days？ 这些天你在干什么？
4.描述图片中人物的动作,常用现在进行时.例如：
Look at the picture. The boy is flying a kite. 看这幅图.这个男孩正在放风筝.
5.如果同本句关系非常密切的上句或下句都是现在进行时,该句习惯上也用现在进行时.例如：
We aren’t reading books. We are doing our homework. 我们不在读书.我们在做家庭作业.
6.根据上句的意思,判断出下句该用现在进行时.例如：
Don’t talk. Our teacher is sleeping. 别讲话.老师正在睡觉呢.
三、现在进行时的用法
现在进行时的用法主要有以下五种：
1.表示在某一时刻或某一段时间内正在进行的动作或情况,常与now, thesedays等连用.
Listen to the two girls by the window. What language ______？
A. did they speak B. were they speaking
C. are they speaking D. he they been speaking
解析 根据上文“Listen to the two girls by the window”可知,两个女孩正在说话,应用现在进行时.故应选C.
