Most students find it difficult to learn English, because they don’t find the good ways. In order to pass the exams, they always learn English by learning the grammar rules and vocabularies by heart. I don’t think it’s a good way to learn English. In my opinion, if we want to learn English well, we should always think in English, speak in English and write in English. While speaking English, we should come out of our shells. Don’t be shy or afraid of making any mistakes, since others won’t care about the mistakes. The more we practice, the better our oral English will be. Just as saying goes, practice makes perfect.
What’s more, most students always remember the new words by writing them again and again on the paper. It isn’t a good way, either. Here is my advice that we should learn the new words by reading, or use the new words to make sentences.
Last but not the least, we had better remember some useful expressions and language points, because it can help us to form a sense of language. As long as we he the sense of language, we will find listening, speaking, reading and writing are no longer difficult.

Cultural Differences between the East and the West
According to the definition given by Hofstede, is the collective mental programming of the people in an environment, conditioned by the same education and life experience. Therefore, there are differences between various nations or regions, because people are affected by education, society and work experience. Take the cultural difference between the East and the West as the example, China is a country that endures high power distance while America endures lower power distance. Therefore, status symbol is very important for Chinese and a superior hing the privilege is a matter of course. But people in America think that they are all equal. Besides, the westerns are individualistic while the easterners are more collectivistic. In individualistic societies, people focus on their own values and needs, relying on individual efforts to serve their interests. In the collectivistic nations, people combine themselves into one or several communities, finding their own place in the group and they mentally rely on the community, so harmony seems important in those nations. There are three main differences between the East and the West, namely uncertainty oidance index, masculine versus femininity and long vs. short term orientation.

Reading Selectively or Extensively?
It is known to us all, reading has a great impact on our whole life. As the result, we are required to read as much as possible since we are children. However, some people will meet with the problem of whether they should read selectively or extensively. And people he different views towards this issue.
One thing, some people consider that we should read selectively because they maintain that it’s impossible for us to read all kinds of books. Furthermore, there are some books doing harm to our psychological health, so we should oid reading them. Finally, only in this way–reading selectively can we he more time to appreciate the beauty of the great and famous books.
Another, other people argue that we should read extensively and get in touch with various kinds of books about different fields so that we can increase our knowledge and broaden our horizon. In addition, no subject is isolated from others and all of them are associated with each other.
Far as I am concerned, just as the saying goes, “read wide, and you will wisely write,” I am in for of the latter. But at the same time, I advocate that we should oid reading those books are harmful to our health as much as possible.
